Koh
Tao is located in the Gulf of Thailand , and is the northernmost inhabited
island in the Samui archipelago. Koh Tao is just a short boat ride from Koh
Samui and Koh Phangan and can also be reached from the mainland city of Chumporn.
Getting to Koh Tao from Koh
Samui
All travel to Koh Tao is by boat, with a majority of visitors arriving from Koh
Samui, the largest island in the archipelago. The most popular routes to the
islands in the Gulf of Thailand go via Koh Samui. All air transfers to the
islands will be via Koh Samui, as it has the only airport in the region. With
Bangkok Airways, it is possible to fly direct to Koh Samui from a number of
destinations, including Phuket, Krabi, Bangkok , Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. For
visitors arriving from Koh Samui, we recommend the 90-minute voyage with the
Lomprayah Catamaran, which departs from Samui's Mae Nam Beach twice daily, at 8
am, and 12 noon.
